Points awarded for each problem will be calculated based on the total number of tops for that problem (by competitors in any given category).

Points Awarded for Flash (top on 1st attempt) or Top in 2 or More Attempts:

  • Flash = 300 / Total Tops on Problem by Competitors in Same Category
  • Top in 2+ Attempts = 200 / Total Tops on Problem by Competitors in Same Category
Examples:

2 Rec category competitors flash P1 and 3 more top P1 in 2+ attempts = 5 total tops of P1 in Rec:

  • P1 Flash Points Rec Category = 300 / 5 = 60 points (awarded to 2 Rec competitors)
  • P1 Top2+ Points Rec Category = 200 / 5 = 40 points (awarded to 3 Rec competitors)

10 Rec category competitors flash P2 and 5 more top P2 in 2+ attempts = 15 total tops of P2 in Rec:

  • P2 Flash Points Rec Category = 300 / 15 = 20 points (awarded to 10 Rec competitors)
  • P2 Top2+ Points Rec Category = 200 / 15 = 13.3 points (awarded to 5 Rec competitors)

8 Exp category competitors flash P1 and 4 more top P1 in 2+ attempts = 12 total tops of P1 in Exp:

  • P1 Flash Points Exp Category = 300 / 12 = 25 points (awarded to 8 Exp competitors)
  • P1 Top2+ Points Exp Category = 200 / 12 = 16.7 points (awarded to 4 Exp competitors)

20 Exp category competitors flash P2 and 10 more top P2 in 2+ attempts = 30 total tops of P2 in Exp:

  • P2 Flash Points Exp Category = 300 / 30 = 10 points (awarded to 20 Exp competitors)
  • P2 Top2+ Points Exp Category = 200 / 30 = 6.7 points (awarded to 10 Exp competitors)

Score = Total Points for All Problems Topped

Ties broken based on fewer number of problems topped to earn points. For example, if 2 competitors both finish with 1,500 points, the competitor who climbed FEWER problems to earn those points ranks higher than the competitor who climbed more problems.
